Common problems with custom-made batteries
The core parameters that can be customized for cylindrical batteries (such as 18650, 21700, 4680) include: nominal voltage and capacity, discharge rate, chemical system, internal resistance level and consistency requirements, and safety structure.
The biggest advantage of polymer batteries is their high degree of shape and size customizability. They can be designed as ultra-thin, irregularly shaped, flexible, or conformable structures. Thickness can usually be customized starting from 2mm, supporting soft-pack aluminum-plastic film structures, suitable for compact spaces.
Although button batteries (such as CR, LR, SR series) are highly standardized, they can still be customized in the following aspects: capacity and discharge curve optimization; operating temperature range (low temperature/high temperature); self-discharge rate control; terminal structure (solder tabs, pins, leads). Packaging methods (tape and reel, tray) Suitable for sensors, wearable devices, medical equipment, and backup power supplies.
Depending on the application market and transportation requirements, common certifications include: UN38.3; IEC 62133 / IEC 60086; UL 1642 / UL 2054; CE / RoHS / REACH; additional certifications may be required for medical or industrial applications.
